Climb the hill out of Green Point toward the CBD and the building stock changes completely. De Waterkant and the lower City Bowl run rows of Cape Georgian and Victorian cottages with small, deep-set window openings, mixed in with newer lock-up-and-go developments squeezed onto the same narrow, cobbled streets. It's a different brief to Green Point's apartment towers, and we measure it differently.
A small sash or casement window with a deep reveal generally wants an aluminium venetian or a neatly fitted roller sized to the recess, not an outside-mount bracket that fights the proportions of the facade. Heritage overlay areas can also carry restrictions on what's visible from the street, so we check that with you before fabric or colour gets chosen — the same discipline we apply to a body corporate rule further down the hill.
