Blinds & Awnings, Mouille Point
Sea-facing apartments around the lighthouse and the promenade — the most exposed stretch of the whole precinct.
Mouille Point sits right on the point, between Green Point's marina edge and the open Atlantic — which means the exposure most of the precinct gets on a bad day is Mouille Point's normal Tuesday. Apartments along the promenade and Beach Road face the sea directly, with almost nothing to break the wind before it reaches the glass.
That changes the specification more than the style. Every exterior fitting gets marine-grade hardware as standard, not an upgrade option — powder-coated aluminium brackets, sealed cassettes, stainless fixings. Interior blinds are less affected, but a bracket exposed to spray off the sea wall corrodes on an ordinary finish within a season or two here.
Inside, it's much the same brief as the rest of Green Point: big glass, apartment living, sunscreen and blockout roller combinations doing most of the daily work, with day & night blinds where privacy from the promenade foot traffic matters more than the view.
Four things we check before we spec anything
Direct sea frontage
No buffer between the glass and the open Atlantic — hardware specification is non-negotiable here, not a nice-to-have.
Wind off the point
The strongest, most consistent wind exposure in the precinct — exterior products get wind-rated fittings and a sensor recommendation as standard.
Promenade foot traffic
Ground and lower-floor units face a public walkway — day & night blinds are the usual answer for privacy without losing all the light.
Lighthouse-conservation streetscape
Some buildings sit close to heritage sightlines around the lighthouse — we check any visual restrictions with your body corporate before quoting.
